Dedicated Designers Branding

Problem Statement:

“We need a brand that works for both Jonni and I. It needs to appeal to the home remodeling world as well as the video, graphic design, and training world.”

We started with a name: Dedicated Designers.

Some of the values that Jonni and I share are determination and grit. We will not stop working until we deliver what our clients want. We’re also dedicated to continuous learning and honing our skills. We both want to be among the best at what we do. We needed a way to communicate that to our clients visually…

Then, we made a logo and color palate.

We designed this logo to communicate our skills as a couple. The outer D in the dark blue represents me and my ability to use design to inspire new behaviors, transfer knowledge, and attract and delight customers. The inner hot pink d represents Jonni and her ability to create spaces that help people live their best lives through function and beauty. We also found the subtle nod to our male and female genders intertwining to become one representative of our close relationship as husband, wife, father, and mother.

We chose Lato for our typeface because it’s typically found in web kits that we knew that we would be using frequently. It’s beautiful, and it made sense strategically, so we didn’t overthink it. We love Lato.

As we were building our resumes using this brand, we realized we needed some small touches to add a premium feel, so we created a few icons to help potential clients or employers find our contact information easily and quickly.
